...I'm a real big fan.......
Today the temperature in my lab hit 33 degrees C (91.4F), it may have been even hotter, I only checked once or twice.
Last week when the Angling coaches were in my lab they all complained about how hot it was and it was only 24 (75.2F).
Peter and I have the two south facing labs, so the sun shines through our windows all day long, we also have no air con in our labs, two of the very few rooms in the building that don't have it, and certainly the two hottest rooms in the building now that the computer rooms do have it.
The only solution is to open the two windows that do open and turn on these babies, big fans. It helps .... a bit....but really it's only pushing the warm air round the room. Still who are we to complain? I mean it's not as if we have naked flames burning in there, or lots of machinery running all day long. or 25 bodies all sitting close together......oh....wait.....WE DO!!!!!
Still as long as the geographers, historians, linguists, mathematicians etc etc are nice and cool and relaxed...what does it matter if we two are sweating cobs, red in the face and perpetually thirsty for nine tenths of the year? Even in winter I rarely have the heaaters on in my lab...that's how hot it is!
Never mind only the three (and a half) hottest weeks of the school year to go, I'm sure we'll survive....we always do!

The fan was turned on at 600rpm when I took this shot. I expected the blades to just be a blur, but they came out crystal clear like this. Go figure!
