toys, toys, toys...

...new ones to play with - because of the generosity of friends!

now, you all know i've been bemoaning the fact of only having a little point and shoot camera... not that there's anything wrong with that - look how far it's gotten me - and i suppose my shots haven't been too awful... people do visit my little blip neck of the woods after all. it's just that i feel as if i've grown in my experiences... and a natural extension then of that growth should be a graduation to the next level of equipment... a higher sophistication, if you will.

i have wonderful friends who listen to me go on... and on... and on... about these things. and are incredibly supportive of my efforts - they listen to my stories of talking to the animals and insects and flowers - of spotting the geese doing funky things... sigh... who could ask for anything more? one friend in particular decided to bestow me an early birthday gift... to help me acquire a real camera! to graduate! boo...

see her there above? my new toy? the new gadget i get to play with? i'm so doing the happy dance... i could just about spit, as i told one blip friend - but that seems so unladylike, doesn't it? should i care?

now that i have her in my hands - believe me... she fits like a glove... is the perfect weight... the best size... - but now i feel slightly intimidated. i love all the bells and whistles she's showing off, for i am a gadget girl at heart... but now i realize i've got some new learning to do and it's not going to be a simple matter of switching a button on and depressing it. i'm so up for the challenge - just finding myself staring at my new toy taking a deep breath...
