finding food...

...amidst the dry land

a momentary relief - during an emotionally driven time... a butterfly flying freely through the skies with their grayish cast due to the fires burning...

i stood staring at it - thinking what a blessing to see such a small thing - to bring a bit of joy to my day when there is so much worry and concern for the community... i waited for its fluttering to cease - for it to settle... it found a bit of yellow - also a small miracle in the dryness of the grassess...

i approached - muttering to it of its beauty - seeing a pink glow rimming its wings... it allowed me to snap its portrait for several moments - perhaps sensing i needed the relief -

upon doing a search i believe i've found it to be properly identified as an orange sulfer butterfly... but those who have more knowledge of these things may certainly correct me. i am merely grateful it provided me - now you, too - with the chance for...

a

happy day.....

fire update: 18,500 acres burned - 300+ homes lost - 32,000 evacuated... major praise: no lives lost, no severe injuries!
