These flumpophones were part of

a brass band entertaining the guests at our

Vice-Chancellor's Garden Party that is held in the afternoon after the formal bestowing of honorary degrees on the great and the good!

This year, the function was held in Lady Margaret Hall, which has splendid gardens.

Not for nothing is the word Gaudy associated with the Feast that closes the day (cf Dorothy L. Sayers' Gaudy Night).
