International Market
Today and over the weekend, Aberdeen is host to the International Market - this happens a few times a year and since we moved offices, it now happens right outside our front door and is a great place to get some hot food for lunch.
Towards the top end of the street was a stall with a pig on a skewer, which smelt very good indeed - one of the offerings from the stall was called a 'Gutbuster' - it looked like a whole baguette stuffed with pork carved from the spit.
Further down the street, two stalls looked askance at each other - adjacent freshly cooked Crepe stands - unfortunate placement for both.
Other options were a very busy noodle bar, a very aromatic Thai stand & an equally delicious smelling Paella stand.
I was spoilt for choice but in the end I partook of a Wild Boar burger for my lunch - also served were Kangaroo, Ostrich or Venison burgers and they sold small packs of Crocodile meat for home cooking.
To round off my lunch I was tempted by the aroma of freshly cooked Macaroons - melt in the mouth & hot from the oven.
