Big Smile & Giggles

Our granddaughter Ashly took her cousin Desiree's little boy, Tristan, our great-grandson to the Santa Ana Zoo this morning. Then Ash phoned me before they arrived home to ask if I'd like to join them for a late lunch at Chick-fil-A.

We all enjoyed some chicken and the cows were pleased. Tristan was thrilled to have "chicken nuggets" and waffle french fries. During lunch I was told the tale of the morning's zoo adventure, and then Tristan got to spend a good amount of time in the fabulous indoor air-conditioned playground (the high temp today was 95 F). He was having a blast. This photo reveals that he had a darn fine time the whole morning with Ashly.

If you are in the USA, we hope you have a fabulous July 4th holiday weekend celebrating the freedom this nation enjoys. We realize more than ever that our freedom comes at a very high price. Our close friends Peg & Scott were just at Arlington National Cemetery for the funeral of their nephew, a soldier who lost his life in the war a few weeks ago.
