I'm enjoying the bus trips I'm making to Inverness and back. This morning's first bus was busier than usual at the start, then collecting others from Glen Sheil Drumnadrochit etc, and on through to Inverness. There are several people I recognise as 'regulars' on the trip, most of them on this morning's.

The lady with the suitcase - is Diane - I'm assuming that, as it says Diane on the label on her chest. As I sat waiting at the bus station cafe for the last bus (5.30pm) back home, she consumed four large milkshakes - two banana and two strawberry, in quick succession. One unfortunate customer managed to sit in Diane's seat while she was in the process of ordering the second round of milkshakes - only to be bellowed at from across the cafe, pointing out their obvious error of sitting in 'her' seat by her luggage. Diane did not board our bus back.

On returning to the bus stance I began to see the morning's bus passengers begin to assemble, waiting for the return of the 917. The lady who'd got on at Glen Sheil was growing concerned - she'd bought a new zimmer frame, and the man in the shop told her he'd deliver it to the bus stop at 5.10pm for her - it was now 5.15. She already had an old one with her, but the new one had a lid, with a seat under it and a smaller bag, but that was okay - it meant she'd spend less money, and could sit when she needed to.

At 5.25pm the zimmer frame pulled up alongside the bus. The delighted lady thanked the man from the shop and boarded the bus.

The bus collected about twenty young asian tourists, who excitedly chattered amongst themselves, and other passengers, and a very amiable return trip was had by all. At Glen Sheil, the driver stopped and let the zimmer lady off, and went to the luggage hatch to get her stuff for her. We all watched as the lady and bus driver made their way slowly and carefully across the road, and up a short hill to her house, side by side, each pushing a zimmer frame.

How's that for service :))
