Ticket to Ryde
I could have blipped a dozen times over today. Spoilt for choice. We went to Portsmouth Harbour and took the ferry over to the Isle of Wight for a friends wedding party. The Island is still like something out of a time warp from the 1950s. An endless variety of houses, every one an Englishman's castle. The pier out to the catamaran is an astonishing wooden roadway that had to be rebuilt last year after it was condemned. Never seen cars driving on a wooden road suspended over the sea before. We walked, looking at the rusty rails, the hovercraft, and the man walking his dogs on the mudflats as Del Shannon's Runaway boomed out across the solent from the ramshackle seafront fairground. But I went for this balcony silhouette. It stood out. Literally.
Had a lovely day today. My blip is black and white but my memories are a rich warm collection of colours, the colours of love and happiness.
