Summer Evening

It was a beautiful summer evening so, inspired by John R Smith, I took a walk down by the canal basin. Here too there is much building going on regenerating what was the old port area of the city.

There were many brightly coloured craft to photograph, and I did. There was also the Staircase lock to photograph, which I did.

Then my eye was caught by the reflection of the water on the underside of bridge number 123. Just a few feet above your head this bridge carries the railway line between Chester and North Wales. As they speed on their way do you think that the passengers realise that the rusty girders and beams which support the railway are held together with a few ties and small bolts?
