Small White

Fuelling up on thistle nectar as he looks for the love of his life in the cabbage fields of Stanley, this male small white is caught in full sun.

The grassland was full of butterflies, 4 or 5 species and dragonflies though it's a mile to the nearest water. Lots of ladybirds and their larvae and unfortunately their prey species the aphid!
