Slightly strange sunflower

Cameron planted this weird sunflower. Why does it have petals growing out of the middle of it?

Finally got my reports finished today. Had to go into work on my day off so imagine how annoyed I was when it took 30 minutes, yes 30 minutes from switching the laptop on to it being ready for me to start work!! And the IT people think the solution is for me to delete all my files and photos off it (about 2GB) and then it will be fine! Yeah right!
Oh and then I should work from an external hard drive- which I am expected to provide myself!
