Candles

Home from work this morning after having one call in the night! Kaz worked from home and Spence and I spent the day playing! It was a really windy day today, with rain and very cold! I had the fire going from about 10am!

Kaz had just helped me move the trampoline a bit so it wasn't hitting the clothes line and we were in the lounge room when the whole house started moving! At first I thought it was just the wind picking up but I instantly knew that it wasn't just wind! The ornaments on the shelf started rattling then fell over and I could see the fence outside wobbling! The tremor only lasted for about 5 seconds but it was a bit scary!

I looked it up on the news websites and it was a 4.4 earth tremor at 11.30am with another of 3.3 about and hour later which we felt as well. The epicentre was about 60km from us, in Korumburra, and could be felt in Melbourne as well. I felt another tremor at about 7pm tonight and there are more expected. Nothing serious though!

To add to it, the electricity went out at about 4.30 and came back on at about 6pm so Spence and I had our tea by candle light!! Luckily I had been cooking a slow cooker meal all day which was still warm and our cook top is gas so I could still heat the pasta in the saucepan!

Kaz has gone to stay in Traralgon tonight and was tiling the kitchen splashback when I spoke to her just before! I will take Spence to daycare tomorrow and then spend the day down there as well.
