Today's the day ....................... to dig up

I know, I know - this looks like a boring old picture of some tatties. But they are not just any old tatties. They are, in fact, the first of our crop of new potatoes which have come from our allotment.

I say 'our' allotment - because I have done the odd bit of sowing of seed and watering - but really it's Will who has done all the hard slog of clearing weeds, getting rid of stones and everything else that it took to turn a bit of waste ground into a growing allotment.

They taste wonderful too - because we've just had them for tea - lightly boiled and smothered in butter. A meal in themselves ..................!
