Drifting in Northumberland
Fab piece of massive driftwood - found on Cocklawburn Beach in Northumberland. Anne and i found a stash of crinoids, horn coral, fossil coral and trace fossils. I took 65 smashing photos which I have put onto Flickr for you all to see - but I don't know how to tag it. Anyone - please!!??
It was an amazing day. We are home with all kinds of treasure. The horn coral is 450m years old and the crinoids are 350m years old. I just can't get my head round that enormous concept.
Am definitely visiting there more often!
We went looking for old pottery and found ancient life forms instead.
Please help with flickr!
