I've been cleaning the stores and the collections at our Museum of Flight today... loads of cobwebs and crispy spiders everywhere.

I thought I'd blip the parachute store as it's a relatively new exhibit and is one of my favourite bits.

This shows how parachutes were cleaned, dried and repacked... the parachutes were hung up to dry and air them and to prevent the fabric from sticking to itself or getting tangled. The really long table about 30ft was then used to lay out the whole parachute complete with lines and harness so that it could be folded and packed...
