hold your hand!

We have some costumed characters at work over the holidays, talking about life in old town Edinburgh.


I liked this scene as I was passing through the gallery today... two little fairy princesses enthralled by the tale of how the chamber pots would be emptied by chucking them out of the window with the cry of gardyloo as your only warning, to which, if you were passing underneath you were supposed to shout hold your hand but being careful not to look up or open your mouth too wide, just in case.....
