Strange World

Really?

Haha!
This image just makes me laugh!

Tuesday was our annual family outing. We've been doing it every year since my son was a baby. No matter how busy we are during the summer we always take the time to spend one day doing something educational...but fun. Most years we go to one of the fabulous Chicago museums. Well, since we've been to them all several times we decided on the Brookfield Zoo this year.

They have a great program of "chats" around the zoo to teach about the animals. We were lucky enough to see the feeding of the African Wild Dogs. They gave a warning ahead of time that they feed them animals...dead of course. I'm pretty sure it was Guinea Pigs. I'll spare you the description of what the dogs did to the little rodents. :P

We got to touch the cownose stingrays at the Stingray Bay exhibit. We watched a fabulous dolphin show. And we saw some very cute baby Klipsrpingers. (Its a breed of antelope from Africa) They were only the size of a large cat.

It was quite a hot day and most of the animals were taking refuge in whatever shade they could find, but at least they were outside for us to see. My goal was to capture images that showed no indication of being in captivity. I did get some great shots of the lions and polar bears but this image just made me laugh so I had to post it.

Such a great day!
