And they're Off!

It was a beautiful sunny day at Arlington Park Race Track.

Its been a crazy weekend. Friday evening our stove/oven broke in the middle of cooking dinner. I took the chicken out of the oven and found it only half cooked. And then the smell of natural gas filled the house. We had to call the gas company to come out to make sure it wasnt a major leak.

We spent Saturday afternoon shopping for a new oven which won't be delivered until next Friday. We came home to funny noises from the air conditioner. It had to happen in the middle of a heat wave. By the end of the evening it had stopped working altogether.

The repair guys are so busy this time of year that it will be a few days before we get service. In the meantime we are "cooking" in the house. I think we will be sleeping in the basement where its just a few degrees cooler.

Its going to be a long hot week!
