Well

Backblip as, having uploaded as usual, in writing the text I found some conflicting information which I had to check and this took me way past midnight. So I went to bed.

The West-Bow well, situated at the bottom of West Bow (Victoria Street) by the Grasssmarket, was supplied, via the reservoir at Castlehill, from the Springs at Comiston.

Viewed in large the date reads 1674, two years after the work began on the project, which was completed by 1681. Other well-heads still exist along the High Street, but none are now functional.

(The left side, with the tap, would have been more photogenic but someone had sprayed 'silly string' on it).
