Dahlia

These days I can't resist what I once considered to be flowers for 'cooncil parks'.

Perhaps it's as I mature like a good cheese or fine wine, that I learn to appreciate the strength in these plants. The way they hold themselves up wide and proud despite the torrential thunder, lightening and hail storms overhead.

An allotment trip and a long walk had been today's plan. That soon turned into a cafe trip with a chum. The place was struggling when the storms hit and soon we were being rained on inside the cafe. We just moved around, the chat was too good and the rain too severe to step outside.

And always at the back of my mind, my babes, both of whom are outside camping, one for the very first time ever! Ah life's little lessons. x

p.s. thank you so much for the lovely comments and kind subscriptions yesterday. Dotty is obviously very popular. I am pleased to hear that you think I captured the essence of the girl. I thought so too.
