is it greedy to have two starters as well as main
This is the photo of our double starters from tonight's dinner for two. We decided to have a really nice meal tonight after seeing some of a cooking programme on tv this morning - instead of the usual chimps tea party that is tea with Faith! Peter went to the fish shop for scallops and came back with mussels as well, then I went to asda with Blake for the rest of the things that were needed while Faith took Peter to jump in puddles! Once Blake was settled for a bit and Faith had had her tea (Peter did her bath and put her to bed, for the first time in months) I set about the cooking...double starters of moules mariniere and scallops beurre blanc, main course of baked pappardelle with pancetta and porcini (except it was tagliatelle instead of pappardelle, asda doesn't stretch to such exciting pastas, I was impressed it had the porcini though), and to finish, sticky toffee pudding. I started cooking at 6.15ish and we ate around 8.30pm, it felt like a marathon cooking session but the food was good. The pasta was I suppose kind of everyday food and the scallops were fine but I don't think beurre blanc sauce is really to my taste. The mussels and sticky toffee pudding were fab. Pasta and pudding leftover so probably will do one of them for photo tomorrow. Peter went to the pub straight after we ate and left me with the dishes! Been a quiet day really apart from dinner. As I was writing this Faith woke up needing the loo. She brought mouse with her and dropped him down the loo - disaster! You can imagine my relief when on fishing him out I realised it was "fluffy mouse" not "real mouse" ("real mouse" being the vital item required for sleep for those not so well acquainted with the rodents of our house!).
ps we used our lovely wedding present china and cutlery which was quite exciting in itself!
