Lazy Sunday
The big plan of heading off to a theme park at the crack of dawn today was scuppered when we all slept three hours past the crack of dawn. Seems like all the dashing around finally caught up with us so an executive decision to sit on our arses all day was reached.
Sorted through some photos for a bit - not actually taken as much as I'd expected, seem to have quickly weaned myself off of looking at everything through blip goggles. Sat in some rocking chairs up on the stoop there for a bit, then made it down to the pool for some swimming, some beer and some fries covered in cheese and green onions. Not a yorkshire pudding or slice of roast beef to be seen, though on a supermarket trip later we did discover some yorkshire pudding mix in amongst the HP sauces, Branston pickle, Scott's Porage Oats, PG Tips and the like. That was in the 'Ethnic Foods' section.
There's lots of wildlife around to snap away at up here with loads of different wasps massing on the trees just behind us - not so keen on that actually, some are pretty big and scary looking. A red shouldered hawk sat watching the small kids in the pool as a lizard came scuttling out of the bins on the right and shot straight across the pool area, closely followed by a very nippy southern black racer snake that chased it off into the bushes. (Can you tell what I've been googling all afternoon?).
Headed back indoors at the first really loud clap of thunder - seems to happen most days here at around 4pm - and now chilling (83 degress kind of chilling at 7pm, real feel 90) and waiting for some nice Mexican food for Sunday dinner. All traditional like.
