Slice of my Life

Dreams fulfilled--ocean and sky together!!

This Sabbath day was most satisfying! Christine and I attended church in Seaside, where the talks, teachers and discussions were truly "feasting on the Word of God". I love teachers that involve the students, just not listening to themselves talk!

Our next satisfying feat was to walk the Clatsop Trail Loop at Ecola State Park. This trail led through rain forests, Sitka trees of immense height, mud, edges of the cliff that made me nervous, wonderful bird views, a woodpecker sighting, salmonberry tasting (they still weren't ripe!) and some outstanding views of the ocean and sky. It was along the downhill portion of the trail that I was able to snap this shot. It is so satisfying to me to be where two of my favorite places on earth come together! I love when I can see to the end of the earth!

This trail was quite the exercise for this 60-year-old granny with arthritic knees! We hiked for 2 1/2 miles, with an altitude gain of 800 feet! By the time we got back to the parking lot, I thought I might have to crawl! But, lying on the beach and listening to the waves, eating Cliff bars, licorice and rehydrating with water, revived me! Ibuprofen will help the knees!
