On a clear day

When I took this shot I hadn't noticed those huge swirling black clouds creeping in at the top, but by the time I got back into the car to pick up my mother it was raining again. My poor girl out camping in the rain.

My boy got home last night, tired, and filthy. His rucksack and sleeping bag are outside 'airing' his boots are foul. It's a joy to have him home. He had second helpings of everything then told me his food was well received at camp!

We decided to risk North Berwick today with mum. It has it's own little micro climate I swear. The sun was shining as we sat at the harbour with our ice creams. My boy held tightly onto his grandmother's hand. It didn't go unnoticed. She has never looked so alone than she does just now.

It was lovely to sit in the sun and enjoy the chat. Later we wandered to the gorgeous old fashioned sweetie shop, which must have a new owner as this one smiles and is pleased to have you there. We bought Sherbet Lemons, Cinnamon Balls and Midget Gems. Had my girl been there we would have added Cherry LIps and Soor Plooms to that list. Yum.

It only took the short journey to Gullane to be back in the rain. I love Summer outings!
