Birthday cupcake
Five years ago today, I still had a full-time job and was on my last week before starting Maternity Leave. It was very hot, and I was very uncomfortable sitting at my desk eating my lunch. As I leant across the desk to throw my yoghurt pot in the bin, my waters broke, and all hell broke loose in the office for two reasons: 1) They assumed I was about to give birth there and then, and 2) Certain people were worried about the deadline we were due to meet that afternoon, and how the work would be done if I wasn't there.
Tristan was 3 weeks early (the other 2 had also been early by one and two weeks, but I was already on leave when they came along). We had joked during my pregnancy and during the labour that he would be an angry red-head when he came out because he had kicked and thrashed so much while I was carrying him, and then wanted to come out early...well they say never joke about things lightly, and sure enough, he is a redhead, and he can be angry at times, but he is quite a character in a way that makes him quite an individual.
So yes, I did hold back a cupcake from his party yesterday...despite everyone thinking that they had all gone. And yes, there were some Chocolate Buttons left over too, although how long they'll remain in front of me in the kitchen is anyone's guess...I thought it was only fair that I shared it with you all as well.
Finally, congratulations to my Dad on reaching the magic milestone of 100 blips today! I know he has found it hard at times, but he has persevered, and I hope he continues to do so!
