oddleg filler

Mr and Mrs EG have an oak floor one side of the room and a tiled floor the other, they aren't the same thickness and you can't buy odd leg oak filler pieces.
I'd had this piece of oak leaning against the wall in the garage for at least 15 years.......it was a bit gnarled and crossgrained at one end. Tried to cut it with a portable circular saw once and just saved the motor from burning out! So it stayed there waiting for the right job....and the right tools.
The table saw handled it OK, the power planer took care of the cross-grain and my low angle block plane was fabulous on the pencil rounds on the edges.
It's had one coat of lacquer and will get another tomorrow.
Then it's just a case of getting it to the EGs.
