New kid on the Block?

I first heard of Miri when I photographed her at the GoGo festival some weeks back, fell in love with her vocals which are just sublime! I was lucky enough to catch up with her again and love the Cover she does of "Parachutes", a track originally done by Cheryl Cole. If you get a chance go check her out.

Miri Hersh (who goes by the single moniker Miri), is not your typical pop-diva. She doesn?t need outrageous costumes or tabloid stories to fuel her career. Her music speaks for itself. Miri?s stunning debut album, Canvas, takes listeners on an aural journey filled with smooth grooves, hypnotic beats, and angelic vocals.

Miri started pursuing her vocal visions aged just 16, before going on to produce beats and sound arrangements for MCs and other vocalists. This now-experienced songwriter and singer has been making her way up in today?s music industry for over a decade, not only producing her own music, but co-writing, performing with and supporting many other well-known music artists.

Miri?s distinctive appeal lies not only in her beautiful and edgy appearance, but also in her voice and songs, which are a mixture of alternative pop, soul and indie music. Miri?s husky and unique vocals have been compared to those of Feist and Macy Gray.

Miri?s debut album ?Canvas? was produced by Beverly Knight?s bass player, Paul Bruce and Monty Joseph from Qton Productions. Two of the tracks were co-written with Cocknbullkid.

And tomorrow night, I am going to see Never The Bride, a fab group whose lead singer Nikki Lambourn wrote "The Living Tree" for Dame Shirley Bassey and produced her album "Get the party started". ;-) xx
