If you go down to the woods today...
...you'll end up at the river!
Before I go on, if you're interested in seeing some photos of Istanbul, I've back-blipped.
I love summer Sundays in Warsaw. It went a bit like this: Breakfast on the balcony; washing/cleaning/tidying/sorting (which I would have preferred not to have done, frankly); lunch on the balcony; out on the bike with a Swedish neighbour who has just had her bike fixed and was looking for a cycling buddy.
We covered a lot of ground, 33.85km to be precise. (That's over 21 miles in UK money) We headed north as far as the sign to say we were leaving Warsaw but first dropped down through a park / forestry area to the edge of the Wisla. We had navigated a difficult km or so where a new junction/road was being built off the E77 without any cycle-path diversions and so we effectively dragged ourselves through a building site, so to avoid the busy road (dual carriageway with very fast and heavy traffic) and wanted to avoid it on the way back. Google-maps on the iPhone came up trumps and allowed us to be more adventurous with our choice of route, forgetting at times we were in the city as the thick, green, tree enclosed paths gave us the feel and smell of the country, complete with cooler and fresher air. We cut back through another 'park/forestry area' that I had been through before and followed the river back, pulling up to a river-side beer-garden with a grill, just a mile or so from home and had a well-deserved rest and refreshments of the beer and kielbasa variety! A lush afternoon with good company.
Time for the Apprentice Final. Can't wait for the interviews with LAS' heavyweight business bods.
