day of the dead figures i capture in the bathroom of a restaurant. today was dave's bday (a good friend, fellow doctor in training). we ventured out for dinner and a few drinks. good fun and still home early.

today was also the first day of orientation....I was one of the lucky 102 students out of 350 who got a new computer (for keeps--the others have to turn in their 'old' computer for new ones in two weeks). It was fun, a bit tedious, but required. it will all come in handing in the next few weeks.

excited for the real stuff to begin. glad to have my friends back in town, glad to spend time with them.
