That's better :)

A good sleep, and a hairbrush!!

Caught Ben playing with his barriers and animals and trains this morning, all the animals were lined up either side of the barriers waiting to cross the train tracks, and the train was coming through chugga-chugga-choo-choo! Then it was the animals' turn to cross while the train was safely on the other side of the room.

Think Ben's sleep has been affected recently (although to be quite honest it's so erratic that there's very little chance we'd ever spot a sleep pattern out of the ordinary) but I'm only saying that because there's been such an obvious developmental spurt recently! He's evidently gearing up to being a 3-year old, but he's got 3 months to go yet (thank goodness, it's going to take a while to figure out what to do for his birthday. Three months. Aargh....) But he's paying attention more, he's starting to put the little words in between the main words in sentences, the whole toilet thing (he's wanting to sit on the toilet again - even if he doesn't do anything yet). Lots of other things which are only really recognised as and when they happen.

Ben woke me up this morning telling me all about his day yesterday. It started with him laughing in his sleep, so I asked him what he was laughing about when he woke up! He said "Ben dreaming" :) He was most excited about riding his bike to tots yesterday morning. He's got a bumblebee transfer on his hand which he is also pretty excited about! Then he went in to see his grandad. Coughed in the doorway to announce his presence, went in, had a story, and then proceeded to bounce all over grandad. I pretended to be asleep, very grateful that it wasn't me being bounced on.

Dad's gone home now. :(

Had a lovely morning: Little Fishes (bit sad, saying goodbye to some of the older children who are going to big school in september - going to miss at least one of the mums quite a lot!); supermarket for lunch, groceries, fuel and tyre pressure; then home where Ben and Dad said their goodbye's. Ben gave him a cuddle and said thankyou for playing with me :) and we stood at the door and waved and waved.

Then we got the camera out again to take some self-portraits. Ben wanted in on the action so I ended up setting up the shots, setting the self-timer, making sure the focus was roughly right, and letting Ben press the shutter release before rushing to our positions. I've put some of the outtakes up on flickr!

We had a bit of fun with that. Now it's crazy time because he's had his power nap, and is still tired, but not sleepy at all. Just bonkers energy.

Not sure what I'm going to do with him the rest of the afternoon. Possibly just let him keep crashing his fire engine into everything as he watches Cars.

Hopefully I don't have to deal with bedtime though :)
