One night in Brechin

(with apologies to M People).

Who'd have thought I'd ever find myself apologising to M People. Anyway, we went and did but first the camping. Aye, the rain failed to appear on Friday which meant I had to honour the promise to Ewan that he could camp in the garden. Which meant that I had to camp in the garden but he then invited Ellen and Mandy said it was OK. Well, if everybody else is in the tent, I'm sure she's not sleeping in a comfy bed on her own so it was four in a tent in the garden. A two-man tent, which would have been OK (and will need to be OK for four nights at the Cambridge Folk Fest) if (a) it hadn't been on a slope, with me at the bottom of the pile and (b) Ellen hadn't woken at seven.

Anyway, we got up and Mandy went to bed and I minded the bairns thinking that I'd catch up on my sleep in the car up to Brechin, which I did, snoring the whole way.

And then out on the town with Elaine and Huw. Although it looks a bit barren on the dance floor, it's actually quite busy and even though it's 10pm, the DJs just getting started, trying to find the level of the audience. After a tour of 1980s pop classics (he's got the demographic right) he finds it musically with some cheesy dance / house music. Still, at least they have the good sense to close at midnight.
