Fischmarkt

Our last full day in Cologne and we visited the extensive ruins of the Praetorium, the palace of the governor of the Roman province of Lower Germany which lie under the modern day City Hall. The excavations are still ongoing.

Afterwards we went for a wander around the maze of alleys that make up the Old Town. This is the Fischmarkt (fish market) but about the only things you can buy here now are beer and coffee. We walked along the banks of the Rhine and had our evening meal in a brauhaus just around the corner from here.

Holiday backblips start here.
