Truly British?
What is currently being labelled as, 'Murdochgate', myself and indeed the rest of the world are witnessing News International under the global scrutinising moral microscope... which by its very nature is encompassing the industrial morality of both Britain's Government and the Metropolitan police force. Of course this entry barely skims the surface of the complexity of the enshrined professional malpractices of core central social professions Britain that is historically unravelling before our very eyes... with only more to come.
Many a word could be written (and indeed will be professionally written across the world on this now and I suspect for some time to come) and admit I could lose myself in writing relevant details, analysis and personal thoughts but I'll spare you! However, for me, whilst I could write reams on this issue, one word alone somewhat efficiently pierces and summarises the core of this issue: morality.
Is it that morality is the core of responsibility of power? Irresponsibility of power? Corruption? Compromising professional and personal relationship(s)? Greed? Or, is that too simplistic? Is, this matter too complex to be summarised so simply? Perhaps.
The ever-revealing scale which the original 'phone hacking scandal' is currently unravelling, the both complex and simple dimensions it encompasses, the global coverage and attention has received has shone a glaring and unavoidable scrutinising spotlight on our country's Government. It seems only appropriate to use a police analogy here as if the the global media and its people are a police helicopter replica shining a demanding high-intensity laser light down into the heart of Palace of Westminster searching, searching and searching for evidence. Evidence to be able to prosecute the guilty suspects. They search tirelessly for this from the heights of the London sky in the depths of the darkness of night. That said, I would like to give my personal public acclaim to those in Government of whom I know to be genuinely morally upright British professionals who serve their country honestly and with integrity. For those working on this case broadly as well as to those who are closely involved in the details, I declare publicly that I think it is they who inject the population of Britain with a hope, however vague and weak that it can seemingly be conveyed and thus appear, but that British democratic justice will ultimately reign.
This photo clearly captures the buildings of Parliament both the Palace of Westminster and Portcullis House of which both the infamous Rupert and James Murdoch historically gave their evidence along with Rebekah Brooks and among other senior Metropolitan police officials to two key Government Select Committees little under a week ago, and others likely soon to be summoned also. With Government now officially be in recess, other major and important new items dominating press coverage both having subsided quite the dominating media attention it received but a week ago climaxing its preceding weeks, it is clear though that 'Murdochgate' and its due significant consequences as we all know, are far, far from over.
My entry 'blurb' aside, in sum this photo, although taken some time ago, inspired by patriotic passion and is one that I use now, today, to wonder if Britain or rather more specifically the leader's of Britain, the police of Britain and the media of Britain are declaring and acting in truth.
