Masterchef

The kids went to play tennis in the morning and were back home by lunchtime. They had planned to go back at 2pm and had booked the court. However, by 2pm they had changed their minds. They decided to have a masterchef competition - girls vs boys. The girls went first and made lots of colourful cupcakes. The kitchen was in a right sorry state and was all sticky. They had to clear everything up so that the boys could get cracking with theirs. They decided to make a sponge cake filled with fresh cream and raspberries topped with melted chocolate. We decided to have the boys' cake for pudding after dinner. Daughter #1 and I were the judges and of course, we had to wait until after dinner to accounce the winners as we wanted to mark both lots of cakes for taste. The two girls ran upstairs and refused to come down for the judges' verdict. They thought they were going to lose and couldn't face being told that.
