Iced buns
Summer Holiday Day two:
In a bid to wear my children out, we walked down to the the local town, to do some jobs. We went to the library to sign up with the library summer reading challenge. We came away with enough books for the whole six weeks but in reality will last a couple of bedtimes! After another couple of chores, including purchasing scrap books for Master Pink's "summer diary", we popped into the bakers for some elevenses. Master Pink chose a "doughnut which looks like a roll with icing on", so we had three of those and sat on a bench to enjoy them before walking home.
After lunch and some nap/chores/art and craft time, we went to the park for an hour or so. Master Pink was the ships' cat, Miss Pink and I were the owners, responsible for buying cat biscuits at the local mushroom shop. We travelled to the shop by roundabout bus.
I think the highlight of my day was Master pink's "joke" telling at tea time though. A half hour open mic stand up routine, inolving lots of random combinations of evil fruit and veg.
"Why did the carrot lock the door?"
"I don't know, why did the carrot lock the door?"
" to stop the people getting any fresh air"
cue lots of laughing and gaffawing by the "comedian".
