Why can't I sit on the mat too?
The cats are not impressed. There are all these nice new places to sit and they aren't allowed near them (I'm trying to keep them as free of cat hair as possible!). In the days before baby, most things on the floor were cat toys, so they are a bit confused to hear me say 'no'. The fact that baby play mats and seats usually have things that squeak, rustle or dangle attached to them doesn't help to keep the cats away. I also have to keep an eye on the dismantled parts of milk bottles and pump when I've washed them up - Spike likes to steal small plastic things and bat them under the fridge.
Went out for coffee today and I noticed that D was sitting up on my lap with very little support. It won't be long before he sits up unaided! He also managed to pull the right part of his car toy to make it play 'twinkle twinkle little star' and vibrate. Pleased with himself he then did it again several times. He has a number of dangley toys with bits that you pull to make them vibrate, but this is the first time that his done it himself... we seem to be noting firsts every day at the moment. Maybe I'm watching him too closely and need to get out more?!
