Our daily bread.
Another hot day today. I only ventured out to get some bread for lunch. Luckily there's a tiny bakery on the corner of my street. This is the local bread known as 'tendir' after the oven that it's baked in. It's a dome shaped earth oven and the bread is stuck to the inside of the dome and falls off when done. At least I think that is the process. Anyway this bread is delicious. I like to make it into a sandwich, but the more usual way of eating it is to pull chunks off to eat alongside grilled meats, soft cheese and fresh herbs. You have to eat this bread on the day it's baked - though it makes quite interesting crunchy toast the next morning.
