Busy little bees
We had a nice morning. A quick trip to the supermarket to make use of the parents car. Then we headed over towards Morningside/Churchill so mum could pick up some camera filters. Had lunch at Loopy Lorna's, it was delicious, especially accompanied by the glass of wine.
After that we headed off to meet my friend M. He keeps bees and had some extra ones for sale. My dad kept bees years ago and had wanted to get back in to it so when the opportunity came to get some, it couldn't bee missed.
Whilst we couldn't get too close, mum and I stood close by to observe the transfer from their hive to the travel box. When the bees finally realised something odd was happening and started flying near us we moved to a safer place. Normally a little bee wouldn't bother me but the thought of getting stung by an angry bee near a mass of them worried me (I can't run very fast)!
They have now made their journey safely down to their new home in Cumbria!
There was a lot of Himalayan Basalm nearby but it was on the golf course and anyhow, it isn't near a water course and apparently it makes some of the most tasty honey ever so you can't really blame them for not tackling it.
