...ears of wheat would it take to make a bag of flour mummy?"

"Ermmmm...not sure, but we could find out."

So we checked and we discovered that:-

One bushel of wheat contains around a million (yes folks that's one million) individual kernels.

Those one million kernels yield about 42 pounds of white flour or 60 pounds of wholewheat flour...around 19 Kilos and 27 Kilos respectively.

That was enough to impress H and thankfully he forgot that we had forgotten to count how many kernels were on one strand so couldn't have worked it out anyway!

It was a nice evening walk with H...all by ourselves. Much as I love Noah, sometimes it's nice just to have H to myself and I think he feels the same :-)
