Flying very high
Helena arrived home from her quick holiday in Newport, West Wales, early this evening. As we were chatting whilst she was unpacking, I noticed another balloon high in the sky to the south of us.
I had already been using my zoom this afternoon to no great effect, so I grabbed the camera and locked focus on the balloons. To my surprise there were these three all close together which seemed rather odd. I took a few shots, but this is the first one and the later ones, about a minute later showed the left hand ballon floating independently. But the other two stayed apparently attached to each other as they floated even higher and further away. They must have been several thousand feet high already
When I imported the images, I tried using the automatic enhance preset in Aperture to see if it could rescue any information, but the results looked like a 60s film impression of a LSD trip. It also showed up the vignetting within the lens at low light levels.
I went back to a manual approach and at least I managed to be able to read the advertising on the smaller of the two attached balloons. It was Camerons Balloons and is not the same one that I blipped here. I hope they are alright.
