Best view of the day
We got a great view of Harringworth Viaduct on this morning's walk. It's a railway viaduct built around 1878 and straddles the Northamptonshire-Rutland border. It's 1.16 kilometres long and has 82 arches and is said to be the longest masonry viaduct across a valley in Britain. It's now mainly used for freight trains and steam specials. Sadly there was no steam train today but it still made a memorable sight on the Friday walk.
We also saw a red kite soaring above and beautiful wild flowers.
Hard to believe it's 30 years to the day that Charles married Di. I remember it well - a helluva lot of water has passed under the bridge since then...
For the record: 17C, mainly cloudy, perfect for walking
