Shagadelic
Kiwilizzie took me for a drive today up to Lake Rotoiti (Nelson Lakes National Park) with the thought of capturing a photo from Mt Robert looking across at the snow on the St Arnaud rage. Unfortunately the Mt Robert Road was closed so we went down to the lake front.
There were a lot of families there, who seemed to have bought their children out to play in the snow - unfortunately most of the snow had melted and what was left was really just slushy ice.
Anchored 20 metres out from the shore there is this raft that swimmers make great use of in the summer months. When there are no simmers about it's often occupied by this pair of shags (cormorants) who have adopted it as their perch of choice. While we were there they were mostly sleeping but every now and then one of them would have a bit of a stretch and a yawn. Snap!
