Summer Holidays Backblip No.5

MIDGERIDOOOOOS!!!!!! Aarrggghhhhhhh!!!!! They were everywhere when I awoke and peered out of the tent. I got as much of the camping gear organised as possible before getting the kids out of the tent and in to the car. There they sat, with the car rapidly filling with swarms of the little, blood-sucking beasties as I hurriedly packed the tent away.

Once sorted, we blasted back around the coast, only stopping for a quick potty-stop at the loos at Calgary Bay, which afforded the opportunity to metaphorically and literally stick our thumbs in our ears and waggle our fingers, whilst blowing raspberries at the hoards camped there.

We arrived at Craignure in plenty of time for the ferry. A sausage and egg butty later and we were on the ferry back to the mainland and the drive to Glasgow to pick up C...hurray!!! :-)

Arrived in Glasgow mid-afternoon (VERY good to see C!) and then set off down to Dumfries for the next installment of the adventure.

Arrived at Marthrown of Mabie and were completely blown away by how excellent this campsite was. More enthusiastic ramblings to follow!
