Any Jokes About BAPS Would be Disrespectful.

The BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, better known as the Neasdon Temple, is the first traditional Hindu Temple in Europe, & the largest outside India.
Stone from Bulgaria & Marble from Italy was shipped to India, where it was carved by over 1500 stonemasons, before being sent on in 160 containers to the UK for construction.
It took just over 2 years to build, cost £12m, raised entirely through public subscription, & was opened in 1995.
Mandir is the Sanskrit word for where the mind becomes still & the soul floats freely to seek the source of life, peace, joy & comfort. We could all use a bit of that!
The Temple also holds a Guiness World Record, for offering 1247 vegetarian dishes during the Annakut Festival in 2000. I could use a bit of that too!
