Lurker

Today was I think the first time I have ever seen a pike. Not a very good photo but a moment that I thought should be marked visually.

It was lurking in the moat of Oxburgh Hall, a stately home in Norfolk. As if the smaller fishes didn't have enough to contend with, there was also a historical re-enactment going on, using real cannons and guns. The noise was actually deafening and dozens of children were terrified to the point of hysteria.

Learnt a new word: shawm. An ancient musical instrument, precursor to an oboe.
