little boy and the big oak

this week Master Pink has wanted to do something - the something was planned for today. The something was to go to the local leisure pool and swim and go on the flumes, and have lunch at "old Macdonalds" afterwards. He has been so excited, and i think half the village know we had the trip planned as he told everyone. But in my sleepy headachey state last night, I read the times wrong and we turned up to the swimming pool half an hour early. Thankfully the pool is right next to Colchester Castle Park, and so we had a big field, a bridge, and some ducks to keep us busy until 10am when the pool opened. And there were squirrels. The photo is of Master Pink showing me where the squirrel was, the very tame squirrel who came up very close to Master Pink.

We had a lovely time at the pool, the children had a great time. Miss Pink loves the water. Master Pink went on the big boy flumes with Daddy. We rounded off the morning with some "happy" meals, a rare treat so it was enjoyed by the minis a great deal.

My headache hadn't budged even after all this, so when we got home I had a little lie-down with Bella, Edward and Jacob for company! Mr Pink got the paddling pool out for the minis and they continued the watery play outside in the garden.
