Marmot

Marmots are magic little things. They live in social groups and one of them does the sentry thing and whenever the sentry sees anything untoward it gives off a piercing "Pheeeep" and that's the cue for everyone to run for burrows. At least that's the theory.

On today's walk, there were loads of potential blips but this Marmot won. I just loved these animals. And there was a Blip disaster, I managed to get really quite close to one of these, pressed the button and my camera said "Your memory card is full". The marmot did not wait for me to change cards.

Smashing walk through meadows full of beautiful flowers and photgenic cows. Saw lots and lots of beautiful things all day - a return trip up to Diavolezza was excellent; the clouds were so much higher. Even saw an eagle which I was delighted with as I hadn't seen any birds of prey.
