Post-Cambridge desperation blues
Although it's a folk festival so that doesn't quite work. Anyhow, we've been on the go or in the car all day from waking at 7.30am to put in the kids in bed at 9. So this is the best I've come up with today. Other days were slightly better, photographically, starting here although, to be honest, I didn't take very many photos. It was kind of getting in the way of enjoying the lazing around, chatting, band and people watching.
So, Cambridge, very good festival although very different from my only other Festival experience, which is T in the Park. Chavstock. Really, it was an extended picnic where you arrive, with friends, at a piece of grass in the morning with newspapers, beer and food and just sit there all day while music is played in the background. Occasionally wandering to the bar or another tent to see a different band or just for a bit of shade from the blistering sun.
Kids had a great time blowing up balloons, making acorn people or Pringlemen (draw on a acorn or a Pringle and make up a story about it before, in the Pringle's case, eating it), playing Shaky, Shaky (another game we made up), playing colour I Spy (for Ellen who can't spell, something beginning with blue / red etc). Last night, we made newspaper shoes and the children danced around in them. A fine four days.
Back to work tomorrow and the start of the new bicycling routine. Just need to decide what to put on the cycling iPod and I'll be good to go.
