Falls
Day 2 of our holiday we did one of my favourite things: pick a place on the map you've never heard of and go and see what's there. More often than not, you find something great.
I remember me and my friend Birgit did it in Germany. We got on a bus that said it was going to a place called Wuetzelhofen, just because we wondered what on earth a place called Wuetzelhofen could possibly be like. When we arrived there was a cool local beer festival in full swing. Drank beer with the locals, had a great time.
Yesterday produced another great find- no beer though. We headed for a place called "Oike" which suggests a manly lake, but when we got there it was actually a crystal blue natural spring in the middle of the mountains. You could drink your fill there, and fill up your bottles for free. Then, at the end of a leafy forest walk along the resulting river, we were rewarded by these waterfalls.
Ella had the greatest time playing in the river, it was a lovely cool respite from the heat, and not even the 105 steps up back up the side of the waterfalls could mar it for me.
That is of course until I popped back the next day with the Canon to take real photos, slipped on the wet steps, slid down about 10 on my bum and just about killed myself.
My pride went before these falls (sorry....) but the camera was OK. Wasn't in the mood to take any pics though after that so you're stuck with the iPhone version.
