The Wash

It's a big place!

The plan today had been to spend the day at the Ouse Washes RSPB reserve, but when we heard there was the possibility of two new lifers (White-rumped Sandpiper & Curlew Sandpiper) at Snettisham RSPB we thought a further 30 odd miles was well worth it.

Traffic was dire around King's Lynn and we eventually gave up on the A10 and headed cross-country, then the weather was too hot for the 1.5km walk in and then the subsequent 1.8km walk round the hides, but at the second last hide RCB found the White-rumped Sandpiper and it was hanging out with the Curlew Sandpiper - so in the end it was definitely well worth the effort.
